Mala Buddhist Beads is dedicated to offering our customers original styles of malas for every taste and budget. We offer prayer beads made from bodhi seeds, lotus seeds, rudraksha seeds, sandalwood, and many types of gemstone malas, such as amethyst and jade. We also offer crystal malas with the unique healing powers inherent to crystal.
Malas are used for meditation in almost every major religion. In Catholicism, they are known as rosaries. In Hinduism, they are called Japa Malas, or Malas. In Buddhism, they are called Malas or Prayer Beads. And in Islam, they are called "Tesbih'" "Tasbih" or "Misbaha". Our malas come from Nepal out of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, and all of our long malas have 108 beads, a significant number in both Hinduism and Buddhism. Our long malas also have a guru bead. Most of our wrist malas have 18 beads and a guru bead.
